To write about yourself is a very hard thing to do but here goes...Both of us (Chris and Mike) are very laid back, we laugh a lot and love being around people. We have found over the years that we have worked together that many photographers can be a touch arrogant and we hate this about our trade. It is a huge deal to spend a very intimate day with the couple we work with and we genuinely feel privileged to be part of the wedding we are asked to photograph.
We started off doing all kinds of photography but now specialise in weddings, as its what we enjoy and where we are happiest working. We always work together for several reasons: The first is that working together gives us the freedom to be creative with less pressure on us. It also allows us to cover the Bride AND the Grooms preparation to give a full story of the day. Also working as a pair gives us the ability to capture those special moments from two perspectives, and on a personal note, we simply enjoy working together and travelling around the country with a great friend is more fun that doing so alone.
How we work
Our approach to wedding photography is very simple:- We cover everything!
- We don't limit how many shots we take.
- We don't take over your wedding.
- We don't do arrogant.
So what do we do?
We cover the Bride and Grooms preparation right through to the end of the speeches with no hourly time limit and no hidden costs. We do honesty with our clients about the true cost of their photography for the day with no hidden extras that may hit you three weeks later when you are told that if you want all your images you will have to pay more! We believe to truly get the best from our clients they need to have total trust in us and would never want to leave a couple feeling they had been tricked by us. We keep in touch with many of our clients after their weddings and part of the enjoyment of what we do is knowing that they are truly happy with the products and service we provide.We were honored to be voted in the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the UK for 2008, (Please see Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the UK) an achievement that we are extremely proud of.
This Top 10 was also featured in September 2009 issue of Photo Pro Magazine - The UK's biggest and fastest growing magazine for professional photographers.
We were also crowned 'Best Wedding Photographers in Cornwall 2010' at the West Country Wedding Awards. Understandably we are absolutely delighted at winning this award, not only because we were up against some excellent photographers but, mainly due to the fact that a lot of the decision making is based upon client feedback. Our clients are always our number one priority, and their thoughts, ideas and input into their wedding photography is very important to us.
We are both members of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) an organisation that, as quoted on their website: 'has a strict Code of Ethics that is rigidly enforced to ensure the consumer is not only hiring a talented photographer, but also one with impeccable business practices.' The SWPP also runs international competitions and we have achieved several awards for images that we have entered.
