Louise and Vince's Wedding at Halswell House in Somerset
Whilst most people were having a chilled out time between Christmas and New Year, we were up at Halswell House in Somerset to photograph Louise and Vince's wedding. We couple booked almost a year ago, and we met with them in August whilst Vince was in Cornwall competitive fishing. It was obvious that the couple knew what they wanted, but were also incredibly easy going, and we knew that their wedding day was going to be one to enjoy.
After staying locally overnight we were up bright and early for an all you can eat breakfast, breaking our healthy eating pledge! Mike headed off to Louise's parents house where she was getting ready and Chris went off to a local pub to meet with Vince where he, and his groomsmen were having breakfast.
We both had a really nice morning with the couple and Louise did her best to consume a bottle of Champagne! After her emotional arrival at the Church, the service was over in a flash and a memorable moment for us was when Louise turned around after the vows had been said with a look of amazement at the amount of guests in the church!
We all then headed off to the nearby stunning Halswell House for the couples reception. We spent the afternoon dodging showers in between photographing the couple and a few group shots.
Despite the fact it was winter and the tree's were bare and grass was muddy, the House looked amazing, and just before the couple first dance we took a few images outside when it was all lit up, with a reflection in the pond.
Louise and Vince were kind enough to send us a text the very next day saying: "Just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and Mike. You were both amazing and everyone commented about you and how well you fitted into the day with all of our friends and family! So glad we chose you to photograph our wedding. We cannot wait to see the pics!!
We'd like to say a massive thank you to the couple and their friends and family for making us feel so welcome and wish them all the very best for their future together.

Sophie and Scott's Wedding at St Mellion International
Whilst most of the Country on Boxing day were nursing hangovers and Christmas day excess, we were up bright and early to photograph Sophie and Scotts wedding.Boxing day is an unusual choice of wedding date, and not one we had ever done before but due to family business and military commitments Boxing day it was for this couple!
As always we split up in the morning to photograph both the Bride and Grooms preparation, but this time carrying a secret that neither Sophie or Scott knew. Sophie's parents had arranged an amazing Cinderella style horse drawn carriage for Sophies journey to the church, and as transport for the newly weds back to the reception.
Despite a really heavy shower as Scott arrived at the Church, the weather passed so most of the guests arrived in sun, and more importantly it was dry for Sophie's arrival.
We had the pleasure of working with Andy from Memories on Film (again!) at this wedding, which is always great as we get on very well.
After a really lovely service surrounded by Christmas trees and decorations we headed back to the contemporary St Mellion International Resort for the reception. As always we aim to take the couple for away for a short while to get those special photographs of them, however cue the second heavy down pour of rain! The shower passed but left the ground very wet underfoot, not good for a stunning wedding dress! We opted to take photograph on one of the balconies at the Resort and got some photos of the sun just dipping behind the tree line.
The second surprise of the day was revealed when Sophie had a dance with her father to the secretly prepared video backdrop of old movie clips of them both when she was a child. Very emotional!
Andy from Memories on Film has been working hard after the wedding and has posted a 'Coming Soon' teaser of Sophie and Scott's day, and we'd recommend anyone thinking of hiring a wedding videographer to check it out.
Working on Boxing Day wouldn't be on the top of many peoples list of things to do, but the Couple, their friends and family made it such a special day we were delighted to be working! We wish them all the very best for their future together.

Sarah and Charlies Wedding at Wadebridge in Cornwall
We love winter weddings despite the weather risks and limited hours of day light, and Sarah and Charlie's wedding was no different! As you can see it rained on the way into Church, it also rained on the way out but after getting back to the Marquee courtesy of our good friend, Darren at Cornwall VW Wedding Hire (who washed and cleaned the Van 3 times that day!) the rain stopped for 5 minutes. Just enough time for us to get some shots of the Bride and Groom.Sarah looked amazing in a fabulous Ian Stuart Wedding Dress, which stayed remarkably clean despite the wet weather!
Charlie had a total of seven groomsmen who were a great group of guys, and very funny.
For the couples evening entertainment they had an amazing band that traveled down from London to play. Most of them were either current or retired session musicians who were quite clearly at the top of their game. We also sat down to eat with them, and what a great bunch of guys they were!
The shot of the couple having their first dance is one of our favourite. Its Mikes shot, however he took that image at exactly the same time as Chris did (just off to the left of the couple) so combined the flash lighting from both cameras.
Sarah and Charlie's wedding was really lovely and the couple were an absolute pleasure to photograph, and we wish them all the very best for their future together.
