Michelle + Michael’s Wedding at Bovey Castle
Devon Wedding Photographer
Today’s blog is a little throw back to Christmas! With Arlo arriving things have been very manic in our household, but dare I say, things have settled down nicely, with Sam back in the office a few hours a week and wedding season in full flow, we seem to be getting into a new routine. So, it’s time to show you all the gorgeous things we’ve been up to since last year!
So many wonderful things I could write about Michelle and Michael, they were a joy to photograph and spend the day with.
Combining one of my favourite venues with my favourite time of year, I was really looking forward to the big day! Upon arrival, I was awed by the festive decor that Bovey had lavished the hotel in, it was truly gorgeous and really gave a magical feel to the fairytale that was about to begin. In all seriousness, I fell in love with it just that little bit more on this visit, I simply had to book a weekend visit for the family this Christmas!
I arrived with Michelle 2 hour before the service, and was greeted by Changing Faces who were busy ensuring everybody looked picture perfect, it has been a while since I’ve seen the girls and it was great to catch up!
Michelle and Michael were to be married in the Cathedral Room, which was home to one of the biggest Christmas trees I’ve ever laid eyes on. The service was full of emotion and love, and guests were captivated by the festive feel that Bovey had to offer. Even though Michelle and Michael had exclusive use of the venue, the atmosphere was vibrant and warm.
Shortly afterwards we were treated to ferret racing, which took place inside due to the extremely wintery weather conditions!
Although we didn’t get to explore the expansive grounds – it really was very wet! I couldn’t resist capturing some moments under the Christmas tree.
After a luxurious meal, we were entertained by The Hot Shots, who were AMAZING! Before wedding photography became my full time career, I was a drummer in a semi-professional 9 piece band, so I’m really fussy with live music, however these guys ticked every single box. They also happen to be Regional Winners in The Wedding Industry Awards (awesome).
Enough of the rambling, enjoy these sneak previews from a gorgeous winter wedding day.
