In June I was asked to photograph the very lovely Sophie and Dave’s wedding, the service was held at the beautiful Alverton in Truro followed by marquee reception on the Roseland. Weddings like these make me fall in love with Cornwall over and over again!
I arrived a few hours prior to the ceremony and was met by Sophie and the girls giggling their way through the preparations, nearby, Dave was downstairs with his best men practicing their speeches. It was a great opportunity for me to nip between the both of them, capturing all the essence of the morning preparations. I especially love being able to visit both the Bride and Groom where it’s logistically possible, there is nothing worse than having a camera stuck in your face for the entire time I’m there, so being able to balance it between both of you makes for a much more relaxed approach.
Sophie’s cousins were singing and playing guitar as she walked down the aisle, which was such a lovely touch. The ceremony went super well, and was full of personal touches and emotions.
After oodles of confetti, Sophie and Dave hopped into their wedding car, a red Jaguar E type, and caught the King Harry ferry across to the Roseland peninsular, with their guests following shortly afterwards.
The marquee provided by Coast to Coast, was beautifully decorated by Helen of The Flower Shed. The neutral tones, combined with the hay bales for seating gave the coolest of vibes for the evening reception.
This part of Cornwall is just so beautiful, so we took full advantage of this and had a brief stroll around the clifftops to capture some stunning images of the two of them.
After a gorgeous meal by Philleigh Way, were some very entertaining and emotional speeches. The evening sun was giving off such a glowing warmth, so everybody went outside to enjoy, before the evening entertainment started.
Sophie and Dave’s first dance was played by The Velveteens! Thanks for having me guys, I had an amazing time being your photographer!
