Watergate Bay is another venue I’m really fortunate to be a recommended supplier of, it’s a super venue and one I love visiting. Rebecca and Tom opted for 12 hours of coverage on their wedding day, but also a few hours the night before too! They had hired the venue for exclusive use, and by opting for additional coverage, it meant that every angle was covered!

On their wedding day, I arrived several hours before the ceremony and headed straight to the beach to find the boys playing beach games, and the children having an epic surf lesson! What a way to start the day!

Rebecca had thoughtfully turned The Events Space into a hair and make up salon for any guests who wished to use it and I absolutely loved this idea. The room had such a buzz to it, and it was great fun to dip in and out to see all the goings on. It was great to catch up with Tamsyn Siddiqui who was busying herself in prepping all the guests, and also with Jenny Wren Weddings, who was there to oversee the day.

As Rebecca and Tom had the complex to themselves, there were guests mingling and getting ready all over the hotel. It was a really lovely informal start to the day, and gave me the chance to meet and say hello to everybody before the formalities started.

R&T had chosen the very talented Miranda from Miranda Hackett Flowers for their floristry, and as always Miranda didn’t fail to deliver. The hotel was looking and smelling devine!

As Rebecca and Tom had already done the legal part of their marriage, they opted for a personable humanist blessing for the formal part of their day. It was eloquently delivered, and a lovely insight into their lives together.

Despite being blessed with beautiful weather all morning, the Cornish has opened during the service so we opted for the drinks reception and confetti run inside. Space wasn’t a problem for these guys, and it worked really well.

When I spoke with Rebecca and Tom during their pre wedding consultation, they specifically asked that we have no time set aside for photos of the two of them. They wanted the photography to be focused solely on their friends and family, many of which had travelled miles to be with them.

I really love that my clients feel that they can express requests against the traditional norms to me, and know that I’m all about them, and not about turning their day into a photoshoot that they don’t want. During the bustle of the day, I did manage to capture a few images of the two of them, and I just adore the moment below.

If you know Watergate, you’ll know the food doesn’t disappoint, and of course everybody was treated to a delicious wedding breakfast. I always think this is the part of the day that flies by as everybody tends to relax.

It was soon time for the speeches, where the level of interaction between speaker and guests, makes for some really fantastic photos!

Onto the bouquet toss and into the evening celebrations, means that my day is almost done. Ideally, where possible, I never like to leave straight after the first day, it’s always great to capture those slightly crazy moments when everybody is up and dancing.

Thanks for having me as your photographer, I had an amazing time capturing your special day! I also must say a big thank you to the lovely Vicky at Watergate Bay for being awesome as always 🙂
